Orca

Killer Whales - Orcinus Orca
Killer whales (now more pleasantly named Orca) were once widely feared by travellers and hunters alike. Today many of us have come to love these beautiful animals for their gentleness, close family ties and intelligence. Much research continues to be done to ensure their future. More about Killer Whales.
Otter

Sea Otter - Enhydra Lutris
Nearly extinct by the end of the 18th century because of their rich, dense fur coats, sea otters are now a protected species, living in scattered locations along the coastlines of the north Pacific Ocean from Japan to California. More information about Sea Otters.

Bottlenose Dolphins - Tursiops Truncatus
Often called 'Flipper' by the kids, the Bottlenose Dolphin is probably the best-known among the 29 species of dolphins found throughout the world. Capable of cruising at 19 miles an hour and reaching short burst of speed of 25 mph, these mammals are found in many warm water regions of the planet. Their predators include sharks, orcas and mainly commercial fishermen. More info about Bottlenose Dolphins.
Beluga

Beluga Whales - Delphinapterus Leucas
The Arctic White Whales are born slate grey and gradually turn white over time. These majestic, gentle animals have evolved to survive in the icy waters of the Arctic by developing very small flippers and tail flukes to conserve body heat. The pronounced hump on their noses (called a melon!) is used to produce sounds underwater. More information about Beluga.
